00:13The approved budget is lower than the initially proposed P6.352 trillion as Marcos vetoed

00:20P194 billion in line items deemed inconsistent with the administration's priorities.

00:25In his speech, Marcos says that the administration carefully reviewed the budget, listening

00:30to public concerns, and addressing items not aligned with the country's development plans.

00:35Among the vetoed items were P26.065 billion for the Department of Public Works and Highways

00:41and P168.240 billion under unprogrammed appropriation.

00:47Meanwhile, the education sector receives the largest allocation with P1.059 trillion, followed

00:54by the DPWH with P1.0079 trillion.

00:59Marcos also announces conditional implementation for certain programs, including the Ayuda

01:03sa Kapos ng Kita Program or ACAP, a cash aid program for middle-class workers.

01:09This is to ensure that the programs are carried out in accordance with the intended purpose.
