A casual 20-minute outing turned into a two-hour ordeal for Emilie as she found herself caught in the middle of a tornado.

"A confirmed tornado touched down in Scotts Valley, CA," Emilie told WooGlobe. "It’s a very rare and unusual occurrence for the Santa Cruz Mountains."
