Rome's Trevi Fountain reopens right in time for Vatican's Jubilee

00:07in time for the inauguration of the 2025 Jubilee whole year.

00:12To enhance visitor experience and prevent overcrowding, a new access system has been

00:17introduced. Staff will control the entry of the monument which will only allow 400 people

00:23at a time to enter. Visitors will now also have to pay an entry fee of 2 euros and will

00:29then have 30 minutes to enjoy the monument.

00:32We have experimented a path through the walkway to understand if it was possible to recover

00:40a more direct relationship with the monument, a closer vision that would allow us to understand

00:46the overall story that this monstrous Tardo Barocco and Proto-Neoclassical monument tells us.

00:55The re-opening comes as a holy year, also known as the Jubilee year, is about to start

01:01in the capital of Italy. The Pope formally inaugurates the holy year by pushing open

01:08the holy door of the St. Peter's Basilica at the start of Christmas Eve.

01:13The Jubilee year is a period of spiritual renewal, forgiveness and celebration that

01:19generally occurs every 25 years.
