00:35The implementation of a safer and more united country under the National Security Strategy 2024 will be more comprehensive.
00:43It was approved by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in a meeting in Malacanang last week.
00:50It was also attended by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersabin, Special Assistant to the President Antonio Lagdameo Jr.
00:57and National Security Advisor Eduardo Año.
01:00Under the National Security Strategy, the National Security Policy 2023 to 2028 of the Administration of Marcos Jr.
01:10will be implemented in accordance with Executive Order No. 37.
01:13The National Security Strategy includes 53 strategic directions and almost 400 steps for the protection of the sovereignty of the Philippines,
01:23for the prosperity of every Filipino, and for the establishment of peace and unity.
01:30The National Security Strategy is implemented in four key areas,
01:34including the most effective use of the instruments of diplomacy and defense,
01:40and for the promotion of prosperity through economic resilience and legislative support.
01:47As for the President, he gave importance to the formation of the NSS
01:52and he hopes that this document will serve as a guide for the Philippines to face new challenges,
01:59while also assuring that every Filipino will benefit from this.
02:03One of the importance of the NSS is its collaboration in accordance with the Philippine Development Plan
02:09that gives importance to the whole-of-nation approach,
02:12that is, the joint efforts of the government, private sector, and the community in implementing national security,
02:19as well as giving priority to investments in education and health,
02:23strengthening the administration, and using technology to strengthen our defense,
02:29which will protect the critical industries, support the development of the economy,
02:35and contribute to the sovereignty of the Philippines,
02:38while providing opportunities for the next generation.
