00:00Recent cat deaths discovered on the University Malaya campus appear to be the result of wild
00:10animal attacks.
00:12Brickfields District Police Chief ACP Khoo Mashariman Khoo Mahmood on Friday said UM
00:18security was informed by the veterinary department that the injuries sustained by the slain cats
00:24were consistent with bites from wild animals.
00:27While no police reports have been filed so far, ACP Khoo Mashariman said the university's
00:32security team confirmed that administration officials are aware of the incidents and have
00:38launched an internal investigation into the matter.
00:41The case gained attention after social media users expressed outrage over what they initially
00:47believed to be brutal killings of cats on campus.
00:51According to animal rescuer Shima Aris, at least three cats had been found dead, including
00:55one named Lily.
00:57She suggested there could be more casualties and called on university authorities to conduct
01:02a thorough investigation.
