00:06President Sara Duterte on Thursday, December 19.
00:09The complaint was supported by House Assistant Minority Leader Gabriel Bordado and Deputy
00:13Minority Leader Lex Collada.
00:15The complainants accuse Duterte of betraying public trust and violating the Constitution.
00:20They call for her removal from office as both a constitutional and moral obligation.
00:25The complainants include Father Antonio Labiao Jr., a convener of the group Clergy for Good
00:29Governance, another is Father Daniel Franklin Dani Pilario, a Cebuano theologian who opposed
00:35drug war killings.
00:37Others are leaders from four NGOs and members of the Union of People's Lawyers in Mindanao.
00:41The latest impeachment effort focuses on allegations of mishandling the P125 million confidential
00:47funds allocated to the OVP in 2022 and the Department of Education's P112.5 million
00:52pesos in 2023.
00:54They argue that Duterte committed plunder by misappropriating public funds and failing
00:58to account for confidential expenditures.
