Horrendous football teams that we see on a week-to-week basis, and it's crazy because
00:07
you might sell yourself, right?
00:08
You look at the Major League Baseball and you go, well, one team is going to spend $350
00:12
million on the roster, the other is going to spend $30 million.
00:14
Of course, there's a discrepancy, but in the NFL, you have a cap and you have a number
00:19
you can't go below.
00:20
So theoretically, every single team should have the same opportunities to be good as
00:24
any other team.
00:25
And also, if you're bad, you get a higher draft pick with a quicker chance to improve
00:29
your football team.
00:30
But still, we have teams that are two wins and three wins and four wins on the season.
00:36
So now as we take a look at the race to the bottom and the NFL's worst records, which
00:41
we talked about, the Tennessee Titans at 3-11 earlier with Will Levis, why are you making
00:46
a quarterback change?
00:47
Just stay with the narrative that Levis will continue to lose football games so you could
00:51
have the worst record.
00:53
And stuff is a fan base to enter the season and go, I hope we end up with the worst record.
00:57
No, because early on, maybe the team gets good and you can make a playoff run and you
01:01
can cheer on your team.
01:02
But it's apparent once you get to December, if your team's not going to make the playoffs,
01:06
lose every possible game you can.
01:09
So the two teams, let's start here.
01:11
The Las Vegas Raiders and the New York Giants, both with two wins.
01:15
You look at the remaining schedule.
01:16
For the Raiders, it's Jacksonville, it's New Orleans, and it's the Chargers.
01:21
For the Giants, it's Atlanta, Indianapolis, and Philadelphia.
01:25
So for me, the Raiders actually have winnable games, if that makes sense, even if I don't
01:30
think they're probably going to win.
01:31
The Giants, playing at Atlanta, they're probably going to lose that game because Atlanta's
01:35
fighting for something.
01:36
Then Indianapolis, two weeks before the season ends, Indy's still in the playoff race, they'll
01:40
be fighting.
01:41
And then at the Philadelphia Eagles, which will be interesting.
01:44
If the Eagles have, let's just say, maybe the number one seed locked up, or they can't
01:48
get the number one overall seed, do the Giants still even want to play in that football game
01:52
because they know they want to lose?
01:53
Who is that top seed to be the worst seed, Dubsy?
01:57
Which means you get the number one overall pick.
02:00
My best, worst team, it's got to be in New York, Donnie.
02:04
It's got to be the Giants.
02:06
I think they've got a slightly tougher schedule than what we see there for the Raiders.
02:12
But look, who wants Shador Sanders?
02:14
Who wants him the most?
02:15
I think it's the Giants.
02:17
They really need that top quarterback, and they just, they don't have the answers.
02:21
It doesn't matter who they put at quarterback, whether it's Tommy Cutlets, whether it's Timmy
02:26
Boyle, whether it's been Drew Locke, they just have, they've got nothing.
02:30
They've got no weapons.
02:32
It's so embarrassing to watch, Donnie, but you know what?
02:35
I like watching some of these lower-rated football teams on a Sunday afternoon because
02:40
I sit there, Donnie, and say, well, that's what I'd be doing.
02:44
I'd be playing like Bryce Young for the Panthers.
02:47
Maybe I'd connect on every 10th pass.
02:49
Maybe I could scramble for five, six yards and still miss that first down, that opportunity
02:55
to get the boys across the sticks.
02:57
But I think the Giants are, they're not picking up another win to close out this season.
03:02
They'll finish off with two wins for the year, and I think that's going to be enough for
03:07
them to get that number one draft pick.
03:09
Out of the cellar dwellers for you, Donnie, who's, I guess, who's been the standout?
03:13
Who are you most surprised with that we're talking about trying to vie for that number
03:17
one draft spot?
03:18
I'll tell you who might get the most help here, if that makes sense, Dubs.
03:21
Like, you look at the Raiders.
03:22
What are they in the market for?
03:23
Absolutely a quarterback.
03:24
You saw the signs in the back of the end zone repeatedly, Tank Fruchadour.
03:28
Then you take a look at the New York Giants.
03:30
Absolutely in need of a quarterback.
03:31
Now, you do have two talented quarterbacks up top.
03:33
Are they generational guys that we talk about, like the Trevor Lawrences or the Andrew Lux?
03:37
Were you actually tanking?
03:39
Caleb Williams was thought to be one of those guys last year.
03:41
Not necessarily, but let's just say, Dubsie, one and two finish, Raiders and Giants.
03:46
They both have to go quarterback.
03:47
They really do.
03:48
So, which leads me to the New England Patriots at 3-11.
03:52
Let's just say they lose the Buffalo, the Chargers, and Buffalo again, which they probably
03:55
will.
03:56
They seemingly think they have their quarterback in Drake May, which might allow them to get
03:59
a player like Travis Hunter and not spend capital to move up and get that quarterback
04:04
or even Travis Hunter.
04:06
I do think that is interesting to me.
04:08
So you are looking, and again, this is what we talk about sometimes if it's September,
04:12
October, November.
04:13
Typically, honestly, Dubs, head coaches will never tank a football game.
04:18
Their job is to get their team most prepared.
04:19
You know who tanks the football game?
04:21
The general manager.
04:22
When he comes into the coach's office, he goes, you're playing this guy, this guy, and
04:25
this guy.
04:26
You're sitting this guy, this guy, and this guy.
04:27
And oh yeah, you thought you were going to play your middle linebacker?
04:30
He's now an IR for the rest of the year with some mysterious elbow injury.
04:33
So you can't play him at all.
04:35
So for me, I still think the Raiders, who are in pole position to get their pick at
04:40
number one, I can't imagine they win any of those games, even if they are winnable.
04:45
And I'm talking about you should be actively sabotaging your team.
04:48
A couple years ago, Dubsy, I remember a standalone game, the Philadelphia Eagles during COVID
04:53
at home were playing the Washington football team at the time.
04:57
And Jalen Hurts was told, get out of that game.
05:00
We're putting in Nate Sudfeld to make sure we don't win this game, which they wound up
05:05
getting Devonta Smith from that pick, which was a great move.
05:08
There's no way the Raiders and Giants should come anywhere close to winning those final
05:12
two games, which means you should be actively fading them down the stretch because if they
05:17
do win, that's just malpractice on your franchise.
