At Liberty Street in Norfolk, I heard a horn in the distance. Soon the block signal on my side of the crossing showed a "Slow Approach" indication. Shortly a headlight appeared. Two Catfish run light towards Lambert's Point. At the last second, the block signal changed to a "Slow Clear" indication. You'll see the train crossing over.
This place is known as "NS Junction", because the original Norfolk Southern Railway crossed the N&W just east of here. I had caught a train on the original NS line a few years ago, as it was owned by NPBL and went to the Ford plant. However, after I went down there to look down the tracks, I was shocked to find out that the tracks have been torn up through there, so the line is abandoned and NPBL has to use a different route now.
