00:00The DA admitted that lowering the price of rice is a challenge that's why the Rice for All program will be strengthened.

00:21Rosalinda usually buys P60 per kilo of rice in the labor market.

00:27But she's saving up for Christmas.

00:29She chose P40 per kilo of rice from Kadiwa ng Pangulo.

00:34Of course, it's the cheapest but it's delicious.

00:37Of course, for the kids, there's a lot to buy for Christmas.

00:41And there's a lot to prepare.

00:43Even just a little.

00:45Francisco is one of the 10 retailers that sells Rice for All to the markets in Metro Manila.

00:52He's already finished a sack of cheap rice within a week.

00:56A lot of people are saying that it's hard to buy cheap rice.

01:04But now, it's a trend.

01:06We can't hide it.

01:09It's a big help because the difference is far.

01:13P50 is the lowest.

01:15The Department of Agriculture admitted that lowering the price of rice is a big challenge.

01:22To bring the price of well-milled or regular-milled rice down.

01:28That's the biggest challenge for me.

01:30That's why the DA will strengthen the Rice for All program.

01:34From January, the TIG 35 agency will issue P36 per kilo of rice, which is called solid rice.

01:43Solid rice is 100% broken.

01:46But 100% broken comes from the good variety of rice.

01:52It's imported.

01:54If there are local sources, we will buy local.

01:57It's cheaper than P40 per kilo of rice that is sold in Kadiwa stores.

02:02The DA will also include NutriRice.

02:05In the second quarter of 2025, P36 to P37 per kilo of rice will be sold.

02:13Aside from abotkaya, it's also substantial.

02:16Instead of grinding three times, it's just one.

02:20The regular rice that we buy now is three-pass.

02:24When it's three-pass, all minerals, nutrients, plus fiber are lost.

02:32In one-pass, all nutrients and fiber are still there.

02:36Your recovery in three-pass is 63 percent.

02:40Your recovery in one-pass is 78 percent.

02:43So you produce more rice with the same amount of rice.

02:50The DA's budget is P5 billion for strengthening the Rice for All program and expanding Kadiwa stores.

02:57The DA's target is to expand 1,200 Kadiwa stores in markets or barangays.

03:06As of now, there are 300 Kadiwa stores in the country.

03:09Ten are positioned in markets.

03:12Four are in train stations.

03:14The DA will ask for help from the mayors of NCR so that the DA's cheaper rice can enter the markets.

03:22The reception in the markets for the consumers is good.

03:27But the problem is it looks like other markets don't want Market Master.

03:34You don't know the retailers of rice.

03:37Of course, we sell them for P40.

03:39They are at P48 to P52.

03:41I will call all the mayors of Metro Manila.

03:44Although we have eight mayors on board now, we still have another six to seven.

03:50At the same time, the DA will ask for help from farmers so that the production of rice can increase and the price of rice can decrease.
