Sir Keir Starmer faced a grilling over the government’s decision not to compensate the millions of women hit by changes to the state pension age during the last Prime Minister’s Questions of the year.Sir Kier is among numerous senior ministers who backed the Women Against State Pension Inequality (Waspi) campaign when Labour was in opposition.

00:44research is clear that 90% of those impacted did know about the change. In those circumstances,

00:53the taxpayer simply can't afford the burden of tens of billions of pounds of compensation.
