00:00Malacanang postpones the scheduled signing of the General Appropriations Act, or GAA,
00:06on Friday, December 20.
00:08Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin says that this is to give more time to President Ferdinand
00:12Marcos Jr. to review the national budget amid concerns on some items.
00:17Bersamin also confirms that Marcos will veto certain provisions of the GAA after several
00:22groups raised concerns about the DepEd budget cut and other issues.
00:26Meanwhile, Senate Finance Committee Chair Grace Poe says that the decision of the palace
00:31is a sign of a healthy democracy.
00:34President Marcos previously said he would work on restoring the P12 billion cut from
00:38the DepEd's budget.
00:39However, he did not respond to the criticisms regarding PhilHealth's zero subsidy.
