00:00The inflation numbers today show inflation at 2.6 percent.
00:04That is comparable to other countries around the world.
00:07In the United States it's 2.7 percent, so slightly higher.
00:11In the Euro area it's 2.3 percent.
00:14So, broadly in line with our international peers,
00:18I recognize that the cost of living crisis continues to bite.
00:22That's why in the budget we increased the national living wage,
00:26a pay rise for three million workers,
00:29and it's why we froze fuel duty,
00:32so that motorists are not paying more at the pumps.
00:35So we recognize the challenges that families remain under
00:38and are taking action to address that ongoing cost of living challenge.
