00:00The one thing I've always believed about public service,
00:02and especially about the presidency,
00:04is the importance of asking yourself,
00:06have we left the country better shaped than we found it?
00:09Today, I can say without β with every fiber of my being,
00:13with all my heart, the answer to that question
00:15is a resounding yes. Yes.
00:17Just two weeks before being sworn in,
00:23we just witnessed something we thought
00:25would never happen in America β
00:27a violent insurrection encouraged by the man
00:30sitting in the White House on January 6th,
00:34and so much more.
00:36We've come a long way since then.
00:39We passed historic legislation β
00:41laws that literally are literally building
00:44the strongest economy in the world.
00:46But, look, it's also been an incredible honor
00:48to serve with someone of immense character
00:51that she's demonstrated through her entire career,
00:53Kamala Harris.
00:55I knew what I was doing when I asked her to be my Vice President.
01:02I knew her. I knew of her. I knew about her.
01:04I knew her record. I trusted her.
01:07She always served this country with purpose and integrity,
01:10and she always will.
01:11And you're not going anywhere, kid,
01:13because we're not going to let you go.
01:14You're not going anywhere.
01:16You know, just as our great first β
01:23second gentleman β I love that β first second gentleman.
01:28This guy's one of the best lawyers in America.
01:29This guy gave up a β this guy's an incredible guy.
01:33And one thing we have in common β
01:35I used to practice law for about 10 days,
01:37but I used to practice β
01:40With your help, we brought together people
01:42from every walk of life and every background,
01:47all united by a deep love of country,
01:52all motivated by enthusiasm and joy
01:56in our fight for America's future.
01:59And as a result of your leadership and your support,
02:03the National Finance Committee held more than 700 events
02:07across the country and raised nearly $700 million.
02:13And we who know that the true measure
02:15of the strength of a leader is not based on who you beat down.
02:19It's based on who you lift up.
02:21Our party chooses leaders who have integrity,
02:27like Joe and Kamala.
02:34People who lead with compassion and decency.
02:39People who fight so that everyone in our country
02:43gets a fair shot.
02:44My proudest achievements in this role
02:46was the creation of the first-ever national strategy
02:50to counter anti-Semitism
02:52and then seeing it through to its implementation.
02:56Your support was critical to me
02:58being able to do this impactful work
03:00and get out on the campaign trail
03:02and to fight for a better and more decent America.
