00:19Some congressmen opposed the discussions on the fund of the Department of Education and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth under the 2025 National Budget.
00:32As for DepEd, the lawmakers insisted that the sector of education remains a priority for the government.
00:40According to House Assistant Majority Leader Jude Acidre,
00:43a part of the Bicameral Conference Committee that approved the final version of the 2025 General Appropriations Bill,
00:51he will give a report on the overall importance of the funds allocated for the sector of education in the coming years.
00:57But before the full report, the House Assistant Majority Leader Jefferson Kung Hu gave a statement that in the 2025 budget,
01:05the sector of education still has the highest allocation if the projects for education in the country are combined.
01:12These are the educational infrastructures that will be built.
01:16The congressmen said, it doesn't mean that the reduction of the DepEd fund is not a priority.
01:22Representative Kung Hun gave a statement that the utilization rate of the funds allocated to the DepEd computerization program under the leadership of former Vice President Sara Duterte is questionable.
01:35It should be addressed.
01:37As for the PhilHealth, the congressmen said that the agency still has funds and the only thing needed is to address the problems in the system
01:46and prepare to help the children.
