00:07The House-Kinta-Committee and the National Bureau of Investigation have decided to investigate

00:13the middlemen responsible for manipulating the price of rice in the market.

00:18In the hearing of the committee, some judges have decided that the NBI should name the individuals and groups

00:24behind the price of rice.

00:27According to some judges, the retailers and wholesalers will not be given direct access

00:32because it is controlled by the middlemen.

00:35It is clear that even if the government will lower the price of rice import and supply of rice,

00:41the price of rice will still be expensive for some families.

00:45It is very clear that there will be a surplus.

00:50Then we saw the self-sufficiency ratio, the demand over supply, less than 1.

00:59It means that there is excess supply.

01:01If there is excess supply, it means that the price should go down.

01:08The Department of Environment and Natural Resources is concerned about the continuous release of sulfur dioxide

01:14from the Canlaon Volcano that has reached Panay Island.

01:17Based on the satellite imagery of the Korean Space Agency,

01:20the sulfur dioxide is thickening on the coast of Negros Island.

01:24It is a threat to the quality of the air and could be harmful to the environment.

01:29According to DNR Secretary Antonio Yulo Loizaga,

01:33the altitude of Abo has reached 36,000 kilometers from the volcano.

01:38According to Loizaga, it is possible for a person to be exposed to severe sulfur dioxide.

01:47In other news, a commercial building was burned in the area of Aurora Boulevard and EDSA in Socorro, Cubao, Quezon City.

01:55The burned house is a part of the former ACT Theater that is said to have a store nearby.

02:00Residents were immediately evacuated to the nearby house.

02:03EDSA closed the road northbound of EDSA from General Luna Avenue, Araneta Corner, EDSA.

02:10The house was declared fire under control at 8 p.m.

02:14The investigation of the incident continues.
