Is community police presence enough?

We ask the people of Newport whether they think we need more police officers out on the streets.

00:00If you don't see a police officer, they will disbehave.

00:03You've got to see officers, and you see policemen walking around

00:07doing whatever, they'll think about it.

00:11But you don't see a police officer, no, very often.

00:13Or you see them in the cars, rushing by,

00:15but you never, ever see them on the plot.

00:18And this is what we miss.

00:19I've never seen any trouble, so there are always policemen around

00:23if you need help for anything, but, yeah, it seems all right, really.

00:27There'd be more of it, definitely.

00:29The amount of times you're just walking through and you're like,

00:32where's the police when you need them?

00:33Like, I see them a lot on the roads, driving around, patrolling,

00:36but you don't really see them in the places that you feel like

00:39you might need them more.

00:40So, yeah, I think definitely more of that.

00:43They rebel, don't they?

00:44And there's so much aggression, and it's towards the police,

00:49who we had the police to help, you know, keep us safe,

00:54which is now, they just sort of, like, rebel against it, don't they?
