During the collapse of the Ming dynasty, the Emperor Chong-Zhen sent an imperial edict to the Prince Zhu Ci, instructing him to flee to Nanjing, hoping the old minister would leave his old base. Eunuch Wang Cheng -En's nephew Wang Zhiming was given the task of protecting the Prince. Along the way, numerous assassins tried to capture the edict. When they reach Nanjing they face even more hardships.
