00:00The Philippine Duck is now considered an endangered species due to the hunting of some local hunters.

00:08That's why it will be up to the case of who will catch it,

00:18The Philippine Ducks are now considered an endangered species.

00:22But the problem is that these are still being victimized by hunters here in the Philippines.

00:28And what's worse is that these are still being victimized by hunters in their online vlogs with thousands of views.

00:35It also shows that they have been doing this for several years.

00:39Because of that, former Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo himself announced the filing of a case against these hunters.

00:47As you can see, no one did this.

00:50If there were not thousands of birds hunting every day, we would not have birds here in the Philippines.

00:56And the Philippine Ducks that we consider endangered, that's what they are killing.

01:03That's why this should be cut off.

01:06Let's just kill them here and let them go.

01:10It is estimated that from 3,300 to 6,700 are the remaining adult population

01:17due to the continuous hunting and destruction of their homes since the 1970s.

01:24I thought there's a pay for it when you have more subscribers, right?

01:47Based on Republic Act No. 9147,

01:50or Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act,

01:53they clearly violated it.

01:56That law prohibits the killing of wildlife.

02:00It has heavy penalties, including up to 12 years in prison

02:05and a fine of up to one million pesos depending on the type of animal.

02:10For now, Pelayo is working with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources or DNR

02:16and the National Bureau of Investigation or NBI

02:19to file a case against the hunters.
