00:04And this is the dramatic moment police raided the home of a drug dealer,

00:08one which featured an abrupt and unexpected escape attempt.

00:13Police were investigating this man, 26-year-old Abdulaziz Haruna.

00:17He was suspected of dealing crack cocaine and heroin.

00:20And between February and May 2023,

00:23authorities discovered a heap of evidence linking him to a drug ring worth over $350,000.

00:29That evidence included Snapchat messages where the suspect posed with stacks of cash.

00:34Officers eventually got the go-ahead to take Haruna in,

00:37which ultimately culminated in this moment.

00:39Police arrived and Haruna wouldn't come out,

00:41so they utilized a chainsaw to cut through the front door.

00:44What happened next, no one could have expected.

00:46Haruna jumps through the damaged door and onto the officer wielding the chainsaw.

00:51Luckily, the chainsaw was not spinning at that time,

00:53and the drug dealer was only taken to the hospital for minor injuries caused by broken glass.

00:58Haruna has since been tried and pleaded guilty to dealing,

01:01and for his crimes he was sentenced to more than seven years in prison.
