Hannibal Barca was a legendary Carthaginian general, best known for his role in the Second Punic War (218–201 BCE) against Rome. Born in 247 BCE, he became famous for leading his forces, including war elephants, across the Alps to invade Italy.
Carthaginians are generally considered to be a Semitic people of North Africa. Their ancestry is primarily linked to the Phoenicians of the Levant region, making them ethnically distinct with Middle Eastern ancestry similar to Ethiopians of East Africa. #HannibalBarca #CarthaginianGeneral #SecondPunicWar #BattleOfCannae #AncientHistory
