00:06It's rare that Bentley redesigns its cars top to bottom,
00:10but this represents a full transformation
00:13of the Bentley Continental,
00:14one of the most popular super luxury coupes on the road.
00:18The design of the Bentley Continental GT
00:20starts with the idea of jewelry.
00:22This is the biggest piece of jewelry
00:24and maybe the most expensive piece of jewelry
00:27some people will ever own.
00:28It starts with the crystal cut headlights,
00:30which have what they call an eyebrow.
00:32Above that lighted eyebrow, there are crystal blocks.
00:36Below it, the headlights are sort of ice cube style.
00:40Altogether, it adds a very modern flair
00:42to the Bentley Continental GT.
00:44On the rear, the Bentley Continental is notable
00:46for its new tail lights.
00:48They are horizontal teardrops, crystal cut, glowing red,
00:52and there's no chrome surround to them
00:54as they had in the past.
00:56As controversial as it is to replace
00:58a 12-cylinder gas-powered engine
01:01with a V8 and a plug-in hybrid electric,
01:03this one produces more power.
01:05771 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque.
01:09Also notable and probably part of the controversy
01:12is when you turn on this car, it's completely silent.
01:15What that does give you, though,
01:16is about 50 miles of all-electric driving range.
01:20Turn it over to sport mode and the V8 engine kicks in.
01:23One thing that Bentley didn't change
01:25is the silhouette of this car.
01:27There are subtle changes to the exterior,
01:29but overall, it looks and feels like a Bentley Continental.
01:34It has that swoop of the hood line down to the rear spoiler.
01:37It has a very beautifully defined front end,
01:40and they maintain the wide front grille.
01:42Inside, you'll find door panels that are faceted
01:45in sort of a diamond cut.
01:46That's quite a departure from the leather-covered
01:49door panels of the last edition.
01:51You'll also find textured metal dials
01:53that feel sort of like a watch bezel in your hand.
01:57And on the rotating display, you'll
01:59find bezel-set gauges that are crystal-topped,
02:03just like a watch.
02:04Changes to the interior of the Bentley Continental
02:07are actually a little subtle.
02:08A lot of the things that you'll see here
02:10were rolled out in the prior model,
02:12including the center console and the steering wheel.
02:15But you'll still see the same proportions
02:18of leather and trim details that we saw in the prior model.
02:22What is different is how this car drives.
02:25If you want to drive the Bentley Continental just in electric,
02:28you can tap E mode.
02:29If you don't want to drive in electric,
02:31you can actually just turn that off.
02:33If you want to use all 771 horsepower,
02:37you're going to dial it over here to sport mode,
02:41and that's where you'll hear the engine.
02:43You can also turn it to B mode, which
02:46is sort of sport mode light.
02:47The real magic about owning a Bentley
02:49is you don't just buy a Bentley, you commission one.
02:52There are over 4 million combinations
02:55of colors and textures and finishes and materials
02:59that you get to choose from when you're designing your Bentley.

03:05The panels that surround the front and even the rear seats
03:09are curved to give you that feel of being in a cocoon.
03:13One of the choices that buyers will have
03:15is light chrome or dark chrome.
03:17And you can see here, this chrome is dark,
03:20but the chrome that surrounds this watch bezel is light.
03:23The dark chrome details are nice because there's less glare
03:26and there's less flash inside the cabin.
03:28But if you choose colors or textures or finishes that
03:32could use a little more light, a light chrome finish
03:35will add that extra amount of light in the cabin.
03:38The Bentley Continental is available in essentially
03:41two trims.
03:41There is the GT Speed, and then there
03:44is the GTC, or Convertible.
03:47Both can be purchased with the first edition package,
03:49which adds another level of detail
03:51and also first edition badging.
03:54The Bentley Continental is absolutely a delight to drive.
03:57The 50 miles of all-electric range
03:59gives you the luxury of driving quietly,
04:02and it has instant torque.
04:04It takes off like a rocket.
04:06But dial it into sport mode, and all 771 horsepower
04:10really set you free.
