00:00The impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte was formally heard in the House of Representatives today at 4.30 p.m.

00:09The complaint was officially received by House Secretary-General Reginald Velasco,

00:14which was jointly filed by several civil society organizations, religious leaders, sectoral representatives,

00:22and several relatives of those who were involved in the war on drugs of the previous administration.

00:27It was endorsed by ACT-Bayan Partylist Representative Percival Sendana,

00:33and was also supported by former Senator Laila Delima.

00:37Among the grounds that the complainants filed against the Vice President

00:42are the culpable violation of the Constitution,

00:45graft and corruption, bribery, betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes.

00:51Secretary-General Velasco will discuss the complaint in detail, and they will make it loud.

01:21... to ensure fairness and adherence to the rule of law.

01:26Accordingly, the House of Representatives will proceed with its duties on this matter,

01:33strictly adhering to the Constitution, its rules, the principles of due process.

01:43On this day, we are here in the House of Representatives,

01:48bravely supporting the petition of citizens because we believe that this is the responsibility of our institution.

01:57They have to give this complaint a fair chance and a fair day in court.

02:03This impeachment complaint is important to start the real step process towards holding the Vice President accountable.
