Palestine: Israeli forces launch land operation on downtown Gaza

Israeli forces continue their attacks on civilians in Gaza as part of what the Zionist regime calls the third phase of their military operation against that Palestinian area. Our correspondent in Palestine Huda  Hegazi with the details.

00:29The occupying Israeli forces started Thursday the launch of a military ground operation

00:33in the northern part of al-Nasrat refugee camp in downtown Gaza Strip.

00:38There, Israeli airstrikes hit mainly the high-rise northward buildings and other houses.

00:45Thus, today, at around 8 a.m. local time in the Gaza Strip, media outlets reported the

00:51withdrawal of the Israeli military from the northern part of that refugee camp, and they

00:56further announced the repositioning of the occupying forces in the border areas.

01:01Subsequently, after such retreat of the Israeli forces, Gazans decided to return to their

01:07homes, to their houses located in the northern part of the aforesaid refugee camp.

01:13But by the time of their arrival, they found huge destruction, by-product of the Israeli

01:18forces' attacks.

01:20By the time they got home, they not only found devastated buildings and houses, but they

01:25also saw shattered infrastructure alongside several localities fully razed by recent

01:32Israeli shellings.

01:34Therefore, right afterwards, the civil defense corps, in conjunction with medical teams,

01:39set off the process of recovering victims spread in those devastated localities, where

01:45the Israeli occupying forces had mounted their raids.

01:49In this regard, the Palestinian Ministry of Health has updated the figure of victims removed

01:54in those areas, which up to this time already exceeded 19 deaths.

01:59But this number is not a final figure, since there are still victims remaining under the

02:03debris trapped under the rubble, and there are even victims that are fully dismembered

02:08due to the severity of the bombings, and therefore, the total of casualties and corpses could

02:14increase.

02:15Now, moving to the northern Gaza Strip, and according to the latest briefings, which have

02:19been issued by the Hebrew newspaper Yiddish Astronaut, has assured that this military

02:25operation being launched by the Israeli occupying forces in the northern Gaza Strip is one of

02:30the longest operations since the Israeli forces began their third phase of this war.

02:36That is to say, the Israeli forces in the third phase started to mount operations for

02:41days or weeks, counting up time spent on them.

02:45However, the Chebalia refugee camp Israeli operation has been conducted for 50 days.

02:51That is to say, we are talking about to be taking two months, and this ongoing operation

02:56is approaching to enter the third month.

02:59Hence, such operation could be considered the longest Israeli operation in this third

03:04phase of the war.

03:05Indeed, the newspaper Yiddish Astronaut advanced that there are still several weeks left for

03:12the Israeli forces to work on that area.

03:15Therefore, we could say that the operation will be lasting for a long time.

03:23That is to say, a long way to go until the Israeli forces left that area, that part of

03:29the coastal enclave.

03:30Furthermore, on Friday, there have been even reports of attacks on several civilian homes

03:36in the area of Chebalia refugee camp, namely in the downtown, in the al-Mashrouh area,

03:43in the Beit Eliha area, and in the vicinity of Kamal Adwan Hospital.

03:48As we can see, these strikes in such area have not ceased.

03:53In this context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health sent a communique granting that

03:58even Israeli attacks around the Kamal Adwan Hospital have continued indiscriminately.

04:04And today, one of the leading nurses has been reportedly killed.

04:10We are referring to the head of the emergency section who was injured from the shellings

04:15on that hospital.

04:16So today, due to medical negligence and the lack of medicines, the outstanding nurse has

04:22lost his life.

04:24In all, we have managed to show the harsh situations hospitals have been going through

04:29in the northern Gaza Strip.

04:31Finally, the Palestinian Ministry of Health further sent a communique to ensure and contend

04:37with the attacks conducted by the Israeli forces, especially on ambulance cars.

04:42The ministry further repudiated the fact that Israel is preventing civil defense corps medical

04:47teams from going to the sites of the bombardments, grounding when these teams are trying to go

04:53to these places to transfer victims unwounded, Israeli forces hit them directly.

04:59Consequently, these aggressions have been condemned, and the ministry further sent a

05:04direct message to the international community and to the World Health Organization, underscoring

05:09that these attacks must be stopped, especially those against medical teams.
