00:00The committee first asked the camera to listen to the confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President.
00:07This is to give VP Sara a chance to face the NBI to explain the allegations against the President, First Lady, and House Speaker.
00:17Raffy Tima has the report.
00:19There are two people who are calling Vice President Sara Duterte tomorrow,
00:26the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability,
00:29who is investigating the confidential funds of her office,
00:32and the NBI, who is being explained because of the allegations against the life of President Bongbong Marcos,
00:38First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez,
00:42said VP yesterday.
00:43We received the NBI's payment.
00:49I requested to rescind the invitation
00:55because they have a conflict.
00:57But the committee said that the camera cannot blame the Vice President
01:01because they ignored their request to give way to the investigation of the NBI.
01:06We are not using it as an excuse because we believe that this issue with the NBI is very important
01:15and it concerns national security.
01:20Because of that, the NBI will continue the invitation to the Vice President
01:24to explain the possible allegations of violation of anti-terror law and grave threats.
01:29But they did not receive any notice that VP Sara will be coming,
01:33even though she did not show up tomorrow.
01:35It will be considered as waiver on her part to explain her side.
01:40She needs to have a good reason for us to postpone the investigation tomorrow.
01:46If she does not show up and there is no notice,
01:49we will just proceed with our report.
01:51We will submit the case to the Prosecutor's Office of the DOJ.
01:57We are still trying to get VP Sara's statement on the statements of the House Committee and the NBI.
02:02VP Sara said yesterday that she believes that the entire agency of the government is chasing her.
02:08We are actually preparing right now a list of proof
02:16that the whole of government is going after one person and that's me.
02:21The Department of Justice is still investigating if VP Sara violated anti-terror law
02:26but they claim that the Vice President is not considered a terrorist.
02:30The Vice President is not doing anything like that.
02:33She is not the head of the government.
02:35The act of her threat, that is what she answered.
02:38Justice Undersecretary Jesse Andres also said
02:42that the Ombudsman has the power to discipline and investigate VP Sara.
02:46According to the Ombudsman,
03:12we have the Vice President that we should investigate.
03:15Are these threats done in relation to the performance of her duties as Vice President?
03:20If not, that would be personal.
03:22And we have the jurisdiction of these things.
