**Softly, softly, the night descends upon the sky, Gently, gently, the moon comes to sit nearby, Whispering songs into my ears.**
**One by one, the stars begin to glow, My restless heart runs far, where, I don’t know, I reach out my hands towards the sky.**
**The night grows deeper within my soul, Its pull runs through every vein and whole. I don’t know why sleep evades my eyes, I sit and wait, but for what, I can’t surmise.**
**Softly, softly, the night calls to me, The moon beckons with its mystery. I long to merge with the vast, open sky, And the sky reaches out to touch me, oh why? I don’t know why sleep evades my eyes, And the night just slips away like sighs.**
**My heart murmurs, it speaks so low, Restless poems come and go. They vanish into the ether unknown. The leaves of trees rustle, soft and light, A shiver runs through my mind at night, And I drift, drift far into the unknown.**
