00:12In the presence of the Central African Bank Presidents and Representatives of the African Regulatory Board,

00:20the fourth edition of the High-Level Regional Forum on Financial Stability was held in Rabat,

00:26in which the Moroccan Bank cooperates with the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

00:32During the forum, the participants discussed the issue of financial stability in light of the emerging risks

00:38and the geopolitical and economic doubts that are being raised by its misguidance on the African continent and the world.

00:44In a statement, the Moroccan Governor of the Bank, Abdel Latif Al-Jouhri,

00:48stated that the role of the Central Banks in confronting the rise of inflation without causing an economic recession

01:07In his statement during the High-Level Regional Forum on Financial Stability,

01:11the Moroccan Governor of the Bank, Abdel Latif Al-Jouhri,

01:15stated that Morocco is facing major challenges in the field of digital currencies since 2017,

01:23and pointed out that the Moroccan authorities will make great efforts to organize these currencies

01:30to guarantee the protection of users and investors,

01:35while at the same time preserving the opportunities provided by these inventions.

01:40Al-Jouhri stated that Morocco, in cooperation with the International Bank,

01:45is approaching a deal on a legal project to organize encrypted currencies,

01:50which is now in the adoption phase by the authorities.

01:54This step comes after a period of suspension imposed by the country to deal with encrypted currencies,

02:01which highlights the new direction towards accepting this emerging sector in the national economy.

02:12The Directorate of Studies and Financial Expectations noted that the internet sector in Morocco

02:17witnessed a noticeable growth during the first nine months of 2024,

02:23with more than 6.5% of participants registered compared to the same period last year.

02:32In total, the number of participants on the internet reached 42,100,000 with the end of September,

02:40which raised the spread rate to an unprecedented level, reaching 112.7%.

02:48These numbers reflect the continuous progress of the internet sector in Morocco

02:54and reflect the increasing dependence of Moroccan citizens on digital technology in their daily lives,

03:00which strengthens the position of Morocco as one of the leading markets in the internet sector in the region.

03:10Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum warned of the potential economic implications

03:16of the increase in the economic patterns that US President-elect Donald Trump threatened

03:21by imposing them on Mexican, Canadian and Chinese products,

03:25as part of a dialogue to avoid escalating trade tensions between the two countries.

03:30Sheinbaum made it clear during a conference that any increase in economic indicators

03:37will be met with the same, which will pose a threat to economic cooperation between Mexico and the United States.

03:44She added that this measure will lead to a surge in inflation and major losses in job opportunities on both sides of the border.

04:42The Korea News Agency said that 12 flights were canceled this morning

04:49and 38 other flights were delayed.

04:53According to the Korean Airport Organization,

04:56it is expected to cancel more flights due to the expected continued heavy snowfall in the country.
