00:00The scene of our National Martial Arts Sport, Arnis, in Batang Pinoy 2024 is alive and well.
00:09The action is in full swing at a mall in Puerto Princesa, Palawan,
00:15where the young arnisers from different parts of the country are showing off their skills.
00:22Here are the student-athletes from Lapu-Lapu City,
00:26who not only won one, but seven gold medals in the FORMS competition,
00:32which was added with four silver and one bronze medals.
00:35One of them is Kurt Imbert Limbaga,
00:38who won the Junior B-Boys Non-Traditional Individual Double Weapon.
00:44So we chose this Arnis to preserve and promote the Filipino martial arts
00:48and to promote peace and harmony,
00:52and also to understand about our Filipino culture
00:57and for our practical art of self-defense.
01:01At the PTV Sports interview with Philippine Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation
01:07Executive Vice President Senior Master Gerald Cagnete,
01:11he thanked the Philippine Sports Commission
01:14because Arnis continues to provide support.
01:18When we started out in 2017, when PSC accepted us,
01:23it was like a boom.
01:26Without PSC, without the Batang Pinoy, without the Philippine National Games,
01:32it's hard to promote the sport without support.
01:37It is expected that in the coming years,
01:40Arnis will continue with the Batang Pinoy
01:43so that more young people will be introduced to the game of self-defense.
01:48From here in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan,
