ABC boss says people like Joe Rogan prey on fear

Chairperson of the ABC Kim Williams explains why he is not a fan of US podcaster Joe Rogan during his National Press Club of Australia address.

00:09I am not one of the three billion, and I'm unlikely to be three billion and one any time soon.

00:18I think people like Mr Rogan prey on people's vulnerabilities.

00:25They prey on fear.

00:27They prey on anxiety.

00:30They prey on all of the elements that contribute to uncertainty in society.

00:37And they entrepreneur fantasy outcomes and conspiracy outcomes as being a normal part of social narrative.

00:49I personally find it deeply repulsive.
