Vinyl record Black Friday event in West Sussex destinations of Shoreham and Steyning

Record Store Day Black Friday event for independent shops will take place on 29th November at both Slipped Discs stores in Shoreham and Steyning, and will feature sixty titles.

00:00Hi there, I'm James Anderson from Slipdiscs.

00:03Today we're in our Shoreham branch.

00:05The last time I was filmed we were in our Standing branch where we started.

00:09So this Friday we've got Black Friday event for Record Store Day.

00:13This is a smaller event compared with the one earlier in the year, in April.

00:18This is about a quarter of the size.

00:20And unlike the other one that has about 400 titles,

00:24this one has just over 100 titles exclusively to

00:28national independent record shops that take part.

00:31We've been lucky enough to acquire about 60 of the titles

00:35which we'll stock in both shops in Standing and Shoreham.

00:39And we'd like to talk to you a little bit about the event.

00:43These exclusive titles will be available from 9am on the 29th of November on Friday.

00:49Unlike most Black Friday events, these records are actually full priced

00:53but they're completely exclusive and only available from the participating shops.

00:58So you'll be able to get them in Standing or Shoreham from 9am on Friday.

01:02We're very lucky to have a dedicated team of staff that come down

01:05and help us out on our special events.

01:08So today we've got Donna in store and we've also got our occasional helper, David.

01:16Other people may know me as the real Roy Grace.

01:19I work with Peter James, have done for over 20 years now

01:23and the Roy Grace books and the TV are based on me as a character.

01:30I also love vinyl records and have been collecting for many years

01:34and as a result of that I met James two or three years ago, got to know him well

01:40and now from time to time when they have one of their big events,

01:43Record Store Day, Black Friday, I'll come along and roll my sleeves up

01:47and give him a hand to hopefully spread good cheer with all the other vinyl lovers.
