Shock in Romania after little-known, far-right populist secures lead in presidential election

00:15Calin Djorgescu, who ran independently, will face off against reformist Elena Lasconi in

00:23With just under 23% of the vote after nearly all ballots were counted, Djorgescu was ahead.

00:30Most local surveys predicted he would win less than 10% of the vote.

00:36Lasconi, of the progressive Save Romania Union Party, followed with just over 19%.

00:44She beat the incumbent prime minister, who resigned as leaders of the establishment PSD
