00:03Viola Davis just achieved EGOT status. The actress completed her collection of awards

00:07after winning a Grammy for the audiobook of her memoir, Finding Me. Davis previously won an Emmy

00:12for her role in the TV show How to Get Away with Murder, an Oscar for the movie Fences,

00:16and two Tony Awards for the plays King Hedley the Third and Fences. Davis becomes the third

00:21black woman and 18th person overall to earn the coveted EGOT title.

00:25I wrote this book, I wrote this book to honor the six-year-old Viola, to honor her, her life,

00:34her joy, her trauma, everything. To everybody who was a part of my story and the best chapter yet,

00:42my loves, Julius, Genesis, you are my life and my joy. You're the best chapter in my book.
