00:00NASA just announced the four astronauts that will man its Artemis II mission around the moon

00:04in one of the most dramatic space-hype videos you may have ever seen.

00:20The crewed Artemis II flight will test the Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft,

00:26a vital step in NASA's long-term goal of further exploring the moon.

00:30The four-person team includes Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover,

00:34Mission Specialist Christina Hammett-Cook, and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen.

00:38The scheduled 2024 launch will send this newly announced crew on a moon flyby that's expected

00:43to last 10 days, with hopes to pave the way for an Artemis III mission that will put the

00:47first woman and the first person of color on the moon as early as 2025. NASA has not sent

00:52a manned crew to the moon since its Apollo 17 mission in 1972.
