It's the end of an era. Netflix will end its DVD-by-mail subscription later this year.

00:04The streaming service began delivering discs in their signature red and white envelopes in 1998.

00:12Netflix recently stopped disclosing the exact subscriber count due to slow growth,

00:15but last year generated $145 million in revenue from DVDs alone,

00:20which indicates that up to 1.3 million people were still renting DVDs from the platform.

00:24Loyal subscribers say they enjoy the nostalgia of receiving that iconic red envelope in the mail,

00:28as well as finding movies that aren't available on streaming services.
