00:00When you mentioned Weightlifting Academy, what is it that you look forward to for the kids that they will get here in Batam?
00:10I look forward to them doing their best.
00:16I don't want to pressure them with medals.
00:19I want them to enjoy what they have here because it's once a year event.
00:24It's once in a while that they get to come here.
00:29So I want them to do their best.
00:32They prepared for this and now they're not going to pressure us.
00:37I'm proud that they're here enjoying at the same time doing their best.
00:42Coming to Batam Philippines, you don't have a choice. You have to get a medal.
00:47How did you approach the kids coming to Batam Philippines?
00:54More on like, if there's a competition, they have to qualify first before going there.
01:05Then they have to set forward to the kids that you have to perform your best and hit some PR so you have a chance.
01:14How does it feel to be a part of the CrossFit community?
01:21Now that you're a coach, you're showing the flower of Batam.
01:25Are there more people doing weightlifting now?
01:30I want to tell a story.
01:32My first competition was Batam Philippines in 2002, Puerto Princesa.
01:38Now we see that the competition is getting bigger.
01:43When I was here, I was the only one in the gold category.
01:49Now there's a lot of people in the silver category.
01:52So I'm grateful that there's a lot of competition now.
01:55I hope that there will be more competitions so they can see that the competition here is good.
02:03Then they set their standards in the international level.
02:07That's my plan.
