00:00The statements we have heard in the past few days are worrying.

00:06There is a lack of caution and the threat of a plan to kill some of us.

00:14If the plan to kill a president is that simple,

00:19what about the common people?

00:23Such crimes should not be tolerated.

00:29That is my message.

00:32As a democratic country, we need to uphold the rule of law.

00:36I, as the head of the Executive Department,

00:40and all those in charge of the government,

00:44have a duty to uphold the Constitution and our laws.

00:51That is why it is wrong to stop the law-abiding citizens from seeking the truth.

00:58I hope that this drama will not end

01:01if the legitimate questions to the Senate and the House of Representatives are answered.

01:07The truth should not be ignored.

01:11I hope that this conversation will end

01:14if this is still the vow of a citizen to speak the truth,

01:21and will not be stopped.

01:23Instead of a straightforward answer,

01:25we are left with a story of lies.

01:28I hope that these events will end

01:32so that the truth will be brought to us.

01:36I have also served 12 years in both chambers of Congress.

01:41I have demonstrated to them the power of the people and our Constitution.

01:47Because of this, I regard their work as an independent branch of our Republic.

01:55Even the entire Executive Branch, all agencies,

01:59are not safe and are always under their scrutiny.

02:04As a country, we have many challenges to face

02:09and many problems to be solved.

02:12Despite the challenges,

02:14I have always paid attention to the government.

02:17But we will not compromise the rule of law.

02:22The law must abide by any situation,

02:25no matter who is affected.

02:27That is why I will not allow the desire of others

02:31to push the entire country to the brink of politics.

02:36Let us stop the process.

02:38Let us uphold the law.

02:40Let us remember the mandate entrusted to us by millions of Filipinos.

02:47Let us work for the creation of the Republic of the Philippines

02:52and for the creation of a new Philippines.
