00:00Tonight on Big Brother, the pressure's on to fail the task. We're going to fail, we're going to
00:20spend time with each other this week. If we fail, we'll file well. How solidarity at stake. We made
00:25an executive decision, as a group, to fail this task. And restless Mirabai on the move again.
00:47Man, on a wet day. What a bummer. It's pouring outside, but it's not the weather that's troubling
00:54the housemates today. It's their plan to boycott the task, and the group pressure on individuals
01:00who may not want to fail. How could you pass the dance as part of this task? We've only seen that
01:07video twice a day. Really? I know. Because you can never be doing that part seriously. If people get
01:15up there and they start doing things properly, I'll turn. I think some people are going to pass
01:18things. Why? What do you mean, you'll turn? You'll turn and try to do them? No, no. Oh,
01:25no. No, but I'm saying, like, I just see some people start practicing things, and then it's
01:30like, well, I mean, if we're going to practice, I would have practiced. The thing is, since
01:33everyone's all, no, we're not doing it. And then suddenly I see that CD being played, people
01:36going, have you all met Donald? I am firm. I sit there and go, you know it. I know you know
01:44it, and you know I know you know it. I think people are just passing the time. Yeah, I
01:48am. Even if I know that song, I would not sing it to you. But you have to do the exact opposite
01:54of what they're asking. That's what I'm saying. People can't get close and just fail. No.
01:57But I'm going to do it in English. We're just going to have to have a little meeting
02:00today and go, look, we all made a decision the other night. Some people can't turn and pass
02:05it. No, then we're going to look stupid for failing other easy ones.
02:14While Nathan leads the kitchen debate, the rest of the house are in no hurry to get up
02:20and face the miserable day outside. Overcast, rain day.
02:25Is it?
02:28Expected max, 28 degrees. Slight north-easterling breeze.
02:40Fighting up tomorrow. Top of 31 expected. For all you boat lovers out there, it's a good
02:48day to go out on the water and go to your favourite fishing spot, because they'll be biting today.
02:53It's all from me back to you, Bert.
02:58So in these situations, which I've been in many of my life, I will do the best to fail,
03:04but there's always been other people that won't. I understand, like, people are worried
03:09how they look if they fail it. But how are they worried when they fail the other things?
03:14Exactly. You know what I mean? This time we're failing intentionally.
03:19So we're just keeping the momentum up. Yeah, I know.
03:22Because otherwise we're going to be spending all day today practicing. I'm not.
03:25And I'm not doing that. No.
03:31We could not learn all five tasks.
03:34The only thing that I know that I could definitely learn today would be all the cooking.
03:38I know the flags. I could learn the song.
03:41Origami, I could learn. I could learn that, I'd fail.
03:43I could learn the cooking. And that German dance for what's to begin, I could learn that.
03:47Oh, I don't think you could learn that you would... Yeah, you can.
03:49You just have to work out what they're doing. And really practice a bit.
03:51It's all. It's all.
03:54It's... Yeah.
03:58I know it.
04:00I just choose not to know it.
04:05And it's a sad thing that I know it.
04:08But no, we're not doing...
04:10No, we're not even playing that with maybe-can game.
04:14Okay, stop it.
04:14Yeah, I got it.
04:15Al?
04:17No, maybe-can.
04:18I'm not.
04:20Maybe-can what?
04:23It's all.
04:28Mmm.
04:31I'm going to pull up some coffee.
04:35Who will be evicted from the house this Sunday?
04:37Your phone vote will decide.
04:39If you think Marty should be evicted from the house, phone 1-9-0-2-3-5-5-0-1-2.
04:43If you think Jessica should be evicted from the house, phone 1-9-0-2-3-5-0-1-3.
04:49If your vote is for one of the other housemates, their numbers will be shown later in the show.
04:53Call cost is $0.55, including GST.
04:55Mobiles may attract a higher rate.
04:57Voting ends this Sunday at 8pm Eastern Standard Time for the first evictee, 8.45pm for the second.
05:03Results will be released live on the first Big Brother double eviction show, exclusively on 10.
05:08Next on Big Brother, more money troubles for the housemates.
05:13We've got to put the big ones in the cash box for Mirabai's fine that she just got.
05:25Come in the room. We're going to ask at the spa.
05:28Yeah, what?
05:29Come in the diary room.
05:30You're going to ask at what?
05:31The spa to be turned on.
05:32Why?
05:33Because it's beautiful at some point.
05:34We're playing 50.
05:35Yeah.
05:36Come on.
05:40This is Big Brother.
05:44Mirabai, we're looking for your microphone.
05:55Oh, shivers.
05:58Big Brother, did you see what he just did?
06:00Big Brother, he just broke it.
06:01Hi, baby.
06:03Can we get the spa turned on, please?
06:04We've got money in there.
06:06You will need to put 30 big ones in, in order to make it work today.
06:1030?
06:11We don't have 30 to do it.
06:13Did we get the leftovers from the other day, from the shopping?
06:18Leftover big ones?
06:19Yes, you did.
06:20That's correct.
06:21Okay.
06:21And you'll remember that Kieran put a large part of that into the cash box as a microphone
06:27penalty.
06:28Yeah, yeah, we know.
06:29There's about to be another microphone penalty for Mirabai not wearing her microphone.
06:34All right.
06:35Well, not yet.
06:36Wait, we'll get on a case.
06:37All right, then.
06:38So, we've got to put 30 in.
06:40That's correct.
06:41All right.
06:41Okay.
06:42Thanks.
06:43You bad boy, are you?
06:45Big Brother wants everyone to hate me.
06:47Can I put this bar on?
06:49They are or not?
06:49No, we have to put in 30 big ones.
07:00We've only got 20.
07:05Two there.
07:08Big Brother was generous.
07:10No, no, no, he missed it.
07:12What the best?
07:14There's your Big Brother.
07:15Nathan to the diary room, please.
07:17See, you didn't go in before, so they called you on now.
07:19What are we doing?
07:34Unfortunately, Mirabai is in the shower, so we're unable to get her physically right
07:38now to pay the microphone penalty that she just incurred.
07:41Okay.
07:41But we do need 40 big ones paid into the cash box in the diary room there right now.
07:48What about the spa?
07:49Well, I'm afraid that's the way the Big Brother is now working this fine system.
07:54So, what money is left over has to go straight into the cash box.
07:59Okay.
08:01Thanks.
08:02Thanks a lot for that.
08:09Where are those big ones?
08:12Sorry?
08:13Um, hey.
08:13Quickly, buddy!
08:14Put the big ones in the spa!
08:16No, don't.
08:16You're getting drunk.
08:17We've got to put the big ones in the cash box for Mirabai's fine that she just got.
08:22He didn't say she...
08:23He said she might be getting fined.
08:25No, he just said...
08:26Big ones in the cash box for the fine.
08:28They're already in.
08:29We already put them in.
08:30Yeah, haven't they?
08:31He knows.
08:37He said he didn't say she was going to get fined.
08:39Well, yes, he did, because she didn't have a microphone on.
08:41No, when we were in there, he said to me and Kiran, Mirabai's about to get a fine.
08:46Yeah, and then Mirabai got the fine.
08:48Yeah, she did.
08:48She still kept it off.
08:49Yeah, he said.
08:51One.
08:53Two.
08:54Three.
08:55Fire out!
08:55Four.
08:57That's only 20.
08:57Well, welcome to another boring day!
09:00F***!
09:02Well, I'm just going to sit down and read all day and not even be entertaining.
09:05Oh, I'm going to ruin the show.
09:07There you go, mate.
09:09Kizza?
09:09If you think Nathan should be evicted from the house, phone 1-9-0-2-3-5-5-0-1-0.
09:15If you think Alex should go, phone 1-9-0-2-3-5-5-0-1-1.
09:21After the break...
09:22Housemates are angry.
09:29The housemates have just been fined again for microphone infringements.
09:33Thank you, Nathan.
09:34Housemates are angry.
09:35But we have a solution, maybe, if you'd like to consider this.
09:38There seems to be repeat offenders doing the microphone fines, and we're just wondering...
09:45Because, like, we're all getting punished for this, like, for people that just aren't using their heads.
09:50Would you consider, perhaps, instead of fining people, making them do a task separately, like cleaning all the mirrors, and maybe halving the fines or something?
10:00Because, like, the fines just aren't working.
10:03Like, I mean, we know Mirabai got 160, yes, over the last week, and then today she does it again.
10:08And, you know, people want to go and have a spa today and, like, read and stuff, and now we can't do that because of someone's incompetence.
10:15And we're just wondering if a task, like cleaning all the mirrors or cleaning the lounge or doing whatever you want them to do, could be incurred instead of a fine.
10:23So does the group not think that there is a group responsibility for enforcing rules?
10:28Well, we can't keep an eye on everyone at every time and look at someone that's not wearing their microphone.
10:33It's like Mirabai could be in her room by herself without a microphone on.
10:35You could fine her.
10:36It doesn't mean that we have to go and keep an eye on Mirabai every five seconds because we're all responsible enough to keep our microphones on.
10:41In response to your request a short while ago, Big Brother reminds you that if this week's task were passed with 100% bet on it, the house would earn more than 5,000 big ones.
10:57Yeah, but, I mean, in the same sense, the reason that everyone chose to do this is because it might be everybody's last week and we just want to hang out with each other.
11:05All right, Nathan, is there anything else?
11:07No, that's all.
11:08Big Brother, we'll get back to you.
11:09Cool, thanks.
11:11That was the first snipe at not doing our task.
11:19Was it?
11:19Yeah, that's what it was all about.
11:20I just said, I just said, I said, we all just had a little chat and I said, like, you know, not all of us yet, I said, but we think that microphone fines aren't working.
11:29So if someone gets that, instead of penalising the whole group by taking our money away from us, like, someone can wash the windows or do a prop task.
11:37And even if you want to still fine us, fine us half the money, you know.
11:40Find us 20 big ones and then get them to do a task.
11:42And I said, that's, and he goes, well, don't you think it's a great responsibility?
11:46And I said, it's not my responsibility or anyone else's to follow nearby around in her bedroom to make sure she's got a microphone on.
11:50I said, we could all be outside and she could incur a fine in there.
11:53It doesn't mean that we have to be there checking everyone's microphone all the time.
11:55I said, we're all adults here.
11:56And we can keep a microphone on, you know.
12:00And I said, it's not that hard.
12:01And then he goes, well, let me remind you that if you were to pass this week's task, you would have over 5,000 big ones.
12:09And I said, that doesn't, I said, yeah, I'd understand that.
12:11I said, and we're all doing this because of the fact that we are, it might be all of our last week.
12:15Is everyone still aligned with not doing this?
12:17Yeah.
12:17Yeah, cool.
12:18As long as we're all still fine and practising seasons.
12:20I think we've still done things.
12:21We've still given them your dance, your song.
12:25Yeah.
12:26We've done that.
12:27We've done it all.
12:28We have.
12:29The flags.
12:30We've still done the flags.
12:30Using the flags.
12:31Exactly.
12:32For their purpose as well, Jess.
12:34So we've got Finland, Japan, Fiji.
12:37We've got Falcon Islands with Mexico in the middle.
12:39Kenya, Panama, and down the bottom, I'd say Belize.
12:43Belize, Belize, Belize.
12:46Hello.
12:47Pete, stop showing that you know the flags.
12:50Your aim is to fail.
12:51What you've got there is Tonga, Tonga, Tonga.
12:55Tonga, Menagers, Menagers and Tonga.
13:01Some of the housemates are struggling with the group pressure to deliberately fail the task.
13:07It's hard for me, though.
13:07I've never been able to not try for something.
13:10Well, that's a personal challenge, Marty.
13:13Yeah, this is a challenge.
13:14That's the challenge.
13:15Create your own way.
13:16It's easy to do it.
13:17The challenge is not to do it.
13:18But crunch comes to crunch, will I?
13:20You'd better.
13:23Is it for the team or my own self-esteem?
13:25Well, yeah.
13:29Beautiful.
13:30Beautiful.
13:31Marty, go and give it to her.
13:33There you go, Jess.
13:37Oh, thank you, sweetheart.
13:40That's where I learned to make it, so I can give it to you.
13:42Oh, sweetheart.
13:43That's gorgeous.
13:45It's lovely.
13:47It's very lovely.
13:49Can you do that?
13:49Can you pass every...
13:57Origami?
14:00Yep.
14:01Yeah?
14:04I could pass every flag.
14:05I know the flags.
14:05I know the flags.
14:05I could do the flags.
14:07Are we passing now?
14:14No.
14:14No, we're just saying what we could.
14:16The funny thing is that we can do it easy.
14:18We've tried.
14:20Not everyone, though.
14:21Imagine if we draw that out, though.
14:24We're making it.
14:25If Pete draws the flags, you draw the song, and I draw the origami.
14:28I can't do any.
14:29Do we try?
14:30Because we haven't got to pass three, and we could pass that.
14:31I thought we'd have a team meeting tonight.
14:37If you think Mirabai should be evicted from the house, phone 1-9-0-2-3-5-0-1-6.
14:42If you think Sarah should go, phone 1-9-0-2-3-5-0-1-7.
14:48Coming up, the housemates standing firm.
14:51They surprised us with something.
14:52Now we're surprising them with something.
14:53The weekly family dinner gives the housemates the chance to anonymously raise contentious issues.
15:04How many dollars are there?
15:05I think that microphone fine shouldn't be paid by anyone.
15:09It should be a task, because no individual in this house has individual money.
15:14And never will.
15:16Well, that's effectively like paying for it.
15:17I'm pretty much the only person that does forget my microphone.
15:23And I'm happy to be personally fine.
15:27I'm happy to have to do a task.
15:30Because I actually feel really bad for the group, especially when we don't have that much money anyway.
15:36No, but it doesn't even bother us like that as a group.
15:38It's just, I mean, I suppose all it got down to the fact that today everyone wanted to go and use the spa,
15:42and then Big Brother is now choosing the option of taking our coins from us and not banking it up for us.
15:48So because they've changed the rules now, we suppose we should change the rules.
15:53Do you think housemates made the right decision by boycotting this week's task?
16:00No?
16:00It's a very interesting question.
16:03Who would have asked that?
16:03I don't know.
16:05Very anonymous.
16:06Kieran!
16:10I won't say I'm proud of all of us.
16:12But for sticking through with this.
16:14I know people have been, we're all practicing for different stuff, but it's not to pass the task.
16:18I think it's great what we're doing.
16:20It's, um, I think it's creative.
16:23It's good.
16:23It's different.
16:23They surprised us with something.
16:24Now we're surprising them with something.
16:26It's brilliant.
16:26Guys, just wait.
16:28I know you guys think, you know, some people know how to do a task, and they'll feel embarrassed trying to do it.
16:33Because everyone else is doing it.
16:34Has done it.
16:35But to me, I don't feel embarrassed if I get a task, and I can't do it, and other people try, and they'll pass their tasks.
16:41Just so we can have a chance to pass on through it.
16:43And the thing is, on that Monday night, we all sat there and said, no, let's fail.
16:47Yeah, we did.
16:48It's actually a reinforce as we put our hands in here.
16:50Yes, we're going to fail this together.
16:53What I heard everyone say was, we're going to fail, we're going to spend time with each other this week, and when we fail, we'll fail well.
16:57That's right.
16:58That's right.
16:58And the thing is, for someone to get 80% right and then fail, then it's going to, you know what I mean, fail well.
17:04Yeah, I mean, it's once in our lives.
17:06You're proud to fail.
17:07I've never ever set out anything in my life to fail, ever.
17:10I've never ever done a task and gone, I'm going to fail this.
17:12I do it to the best of my ability.
17:13This is one time only that I will do something to fail.
17:17That's right.
17:18And I want to fail really well.
17:19So we should be putting 100% into it.
17:21It's just failing.
17:22That's right.
17:23It's failing.
17:25It's not going to go hungry.
17:26We're not going to go hungry.
17:28No, I know.
17:28I say that, no one here loves food more than me.
17:33I'll say that.
17:34I'll say that, Jess.
17:35Oh, look, that's a big call.
17:36That's only because you haven't heard me.
17:38I think we all need food equally to survive.
17:40We do.
17:42And lots of it.
17:44Guys, we didn't have food.
17:45We do this all the time.
17:46We've failed.
17:46We've failed.
17:48The times that we've failed from now to these lately, we've had food everywhere.
17:52Yeah, we have.
17:53You know, so, I mean, that doesn't even come in.
17:55It was a fact that as a group, we all decided to fail.
17:57Then, I mean, that's fine that people are doing their own interests and stuff and, like,
18:01reading up on things and learning a song so they want to learn.
18:03Exactly.
18:04That's how I personally...
18:05They know the flags.
18:07If they want to learn the flags, they'll know if the outside will.
18:09But the thing is, if you then put that into the test and you don't win, you pass, it's,
18:16I mean, I could have learned all of this in a day.
18:19And I could have done it today.
18:20We made an executive decision as a group to fail this task.
18:25And we will.
18:26Let's think about how outside people are going to see us if we do this.
18:29We're not.
18:29We don't.
18:29You're the one that can't lie.
18:31If it's like, okay, but we know.
18:34But Marty, just because you don't doesn't mean other people can't.
18:36Okay.
18:37You know?
18:37You know what?
18:38I think that the argument that we're having, the inner argument about people worried about
18:43looking like a fool, I don't think anyone cares about that.
18:44No.
18:45I think what it comes down to is we all made a group decision on Monday.
18:48We've got to carry out the group decision.
18:50That's right.
18:52Yesterday, Mirabai accepted an invitation to move into the singles room.
19:00This evening, she's on the move again.
19:033.97.
19:06Where are you going?
19:08Hmm?
19:08Are you sleeping in your room?
19:09I might, actually.
19:10No, good night.
19:12Oh, interesting.
19:13All of a sudden.
19:15We're not good enough.
19:16Whoa.
19:17Whoa.
19:18Whoa.
19:18Honestly, we're not good enough for you to come and sleep in your room.
19:21I remember.
19:22The pages are bigger than yours, so shut up.
19:24Are we all staying in the same room on Saturday?
19:26Yeah, I think so.
19:27If that's if Marty wants to.
19:27I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.
19:50It's a ride.
19:51Ah, the serenity.
19:59Yes.
20:01Serenity is the word.
20:04Absolutely.
20:04Mm-hmm.
20:07Mm-hmm.
20:07Mm-hmm.
20:08Mm-hmm.
20:09Mm-hmm.
20:10Mm-hmm.
20:15Mm-hmm.
20:16Mm-hmm.
20:18Mm-hmm.
20:19Mm-hmm.
