00:00I run over 200 mile an hour, three and a half seconds.
00:12Door Slammers are cars with doors on them that make a monster amount of horsepower.
00:18My car is fast, bad to the bone, and always on edge.
00:34In an eighth of a mile, I run over 200 mile an hour, three and a half seconds.
00:40I drive a 2014 Corvette.
00:50The car has a 526 Brad Anderson engine and air motor.
00:56This car makes 3,800 horsepower.
01:00We started racing probably 10, 15 years ago just going to the racetrack on Friday nights with the street car.
01:10That escalated into what we're doing now.
01:14Five, six years ago, we partnered with a man called Gil Mobley.
01:18He's been racing small tire racing for the last 10, 15 years.
01:22He was always the man to beat.
01:24Now, he's partnered with us, and we are the ones to beat on race day.
01:28The car has held multiple records since it's been built back in 2014.
01:34It has won multiple races.
01:36I have won a couple Outlaw 10.5 races back when we ran that class.
01:42So far, I've only won one Radio Versa World race.
01:46I was here last year. I won the Outlaw 10.5 category.
01:50This year, I'm here running Radio Versa World, which is the premier category at this race.
01:56Back when we ran Outlaw 10.5, the car was first to the 80s.
02:02First to the 70s.
02:06We were picking up more steam, so they kicked us out of the class.
02:10We had to start running Radio Versa World.
02:16This is my 2014 Adventure Point belt for MET.
02:20This is my 2014 Adventure Point belt for MET.
02:24We have a 5.6 Brad Anderson motor.
02:30We do most of the work for ourselves.
02:32We also have a prior approach race set to any professional motor.
02:36On top of that, we have a screw-closed application.
02:42On the inside, we have a neochance torque converter.
02:46It's a tie drive hooked together to a Lenka transmission.
02:50It's hooked together to a driveshaft to a Mark Williams rear.
02:54The car is on a 315 drag radial.
02:58I didn't know a whole lot about racing.
03:16I was fortunate to get enough people to help me, teach me along the way, and get me where I needed to be.
03:22What I can do then is pass that on to my son.
03:26The mistakes I've made, the things that I've done wrong, to make him a better driver.
03:30He can get there a whole lot quicker than I did.
03:34I've been racing against my father for the past two and a half years.
03:38It is very competitive because we both bring out the best in each other.
03:42But no matter at the end of the day, no matter who wins, as long as one of us comes out on top.
