00:08I think it's just one of those things where people change and people grow apart.

00:20And I started to choke a little bit, and my heart started racing.

00:25You know, I had all the help in the world, but I didn't want it.

00:28I've really never talked about this stuff before, so it's like, kind of, I don't know

00:34if I should be sharing this.

00:42He was abusive.

00:46He was mean.

00:47It felt as if he chose that over us, and so I knew that there was something glamorous or

00:53fulfilling about alcohol and drugs.

01:23They would just say, well, you're fat.

01:37They had a suicide petition, and they passed it around the school and got people to sign

01:42it.

01:43I literally didn't know why they were being so mean to me.

01:53A princess is never sure who her true friend is.

02:09I had no one to look up to in the spotlight that was a regular-sized girl.

02:24I started feeling pressure to look a certain way.

02:28There was more pressure to succeed, you know, numbers on charts, and I was a perfectionist,

02:33and I really wanted to be the best of the best.

02:54Somebody's older sister had said that I looked heavy and that I should start throwing up.

03:01And that's when the eating disorder developed.

03:11Because Selena called me crying when I was in there and was just so worried, and ever

03:15since then, you know, we've gotten closer.

03:22And I would be lying to you if I said it didn't kind of hurt my feelings, but I kind of channeled

03:27that into my music.

03:47Demi Lovato was rushed to the hospital today after suffering an overdose.

04:09When I look in the mirror and I see something that I don't like, I change that thought instantly

04:15into an affirmation, a self-affirmation, where I say, no, you're not going to think like that.

04:21We had a part where, you know, a time where we did grow apart, but there's nothing like

04:48her, and there's nothing like us.

04:49So I will always cherish her.

04:54I want to thank Demi because we've always talked about using our voice to help this

05:02generation, and I'm so thankful for you to inspire me every day.
