00:00Some government agencies have released orders to make Christmas celebrations
00:03simpler, while the Civil Service Commission has reminded about
00:07holding Christmas parties. PTV's Klaile Pardilla has more.
00:13The Civil Service Commission reminded government agencies to simplify their year-end assessment
00:19activities, which are usually held together with Christmas and New Year parties. This is
00:24in response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s call to ditch lavish Christmas celebrations
00:29to show solidarity with and compassion for Tayfun victims.
00:33Civil Service Commission Acting Chairperson Irene Lizada emphasized that government offices
00:39should establish clear policies regarding expenses for year-end activities. She also
00:45underscored that no government official or employee should use public funds for personal donations.
01:00This initiative supports the President's appeal to stand together with and behind millions of
01:10Tayfun victims who continue to mourn the loss of loved ones, homes, and livelihoods.
01:16The Department of Education has already released a memorandum instructing its regional and division
01:22offices to cut down on Christmas party merrymaking and spending, and instead reallocate or set aside
01:29for Tayfun relief efforts. Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture has pledged
01:34to hold a simple yet meaningful Christmas celebration.
