00:00In recent years, we have adapted the infrastructural offer of Scallo di Trapani to the needs of the market.
00:12Trapani is a very rich province, very beautiful, very welcoming, rich in culture, history and gastronomy,
00:18and therefore it deserved a volume of cross-border traffic different from what it had.
00:23It has an important production behind it, in its province,
00:27and therefore it deserved to have benches that could move the goods in and out.
00:33And above all, it had a relationship to a city that faces its port,
00:39which deserved to see in its sea space something adequate compared to the history and culture that this city tells.
00:46Here, we have done this.
00:48We have adapted our infrastructural offer by building two terminals,
00:52the one with the excavations on one side and the one crossing on the other.
00:56We have adapted our infrastructural offer by bringing home a work that,
01:01from all of us, when I arrived, was almost impossible to do,
01:05which is the dragging of the booms,
01:07and therefore we have put in the hands of our cross-border dealer a 12-metre port
01:15that allows the entry of the cross-border ships,
01:18and the response to today's press conference with the announcement that next year
01:23we will double the volumes of this year,
01:25but above all that now the dealer sees feasible the goal of 250,000 passengers in Palermo,
01:33with companies that move only in luxury,
01:37therefore with passengers who are high spending,
01:40and above all throughout the year, except the first two months of the year, which are January and February.
01:46So from March to December,
01:48every week there will be a ship from the port of Trapani,
01:52let's say, to delight its passengers with the wonders that move in the city
01:58and behind the city in its province.
02:00All this we have done through the important work of a team that is that of the authority,
02:06we are very happy, now we will go in the phase of realization of the race band
02:13for that great project that we presented to the city of Trapani a few years ago,
02:21and it is a very beautiful and important project,
02:24that the environmental permitting, therefore the environmental authorizations,
02:27unfortunately have been too long, they have divided it in two,
02:30an immediately feasible part, which is the part of the Molotti,
02:34of the part of the connection with the Colombaia,
02:38an area, let's say, so important returned to the city,
02:42we start with that, so soon there will be the emanation of the race band,
02:46and then, once the environmental impact assessment is done,
02:50instead, on the remaining part, we will also proceed with the part of the tourist port.
02:55Here we are, even there, very satisfied, because this was my promise,
02:59before leaving I hope to be able to launch the work,
03:03and well, promises must be kept and you have to commit at least to be able to keep them.
03:08I think I did it and we are happy, soon we will meet again,
03:12not only to present the first functional lot of this work,
03:15but also to make you understand that the race band has left,
03:18and then there will be the company that will have to carry out this work.
