00:00It's user-friendly and easy to invest in the innovation of a grade 11 student who can help those who are having a hard time climbing stairs.
00:21Come on, let's change the game with Project Safer!
00:24For those who have a motor impairment, senior citizens, or those who are recovering from injuries,
00:34you don't have to struggle climbing stairs anymore.
00:41Because Project Safer or Stair Assistance for Everyone in Recovery is now available for you.
00:50Developed by George Leon Tizon, a grade 11 student of the Tag Gig Robotics Team.
00:58It's user-friendly and easy to invest in the innovation of a grade 11 student who can help those who are having a hard time climbing stairs anymore.
01:01The first choice was the already existing solution which is the cane which we just made an attachment to.
01:07This simple attachment to the cane can help users climb the stairs by attaching to any kind of railing and adjusting to their size
01:15and using the motors to help pull the user upwards as a form of assistance.
01:20The developer studied how to incorporate the project in stair railing in consideration with weight capacity, speed, and terrain adaptability of the user.
01:30And to do that, they installed a gripping mechanism and it also has a powerful motor for necessary support.
01:38No wonder the project was made by Best in Innovation just after System Center for Integrated STEM Education Tech Expo last August.
01:47With the materials at hand and also what we know in terms of robotics and technology,
01:53we thought that this simple innovation, although quite simple, can still prove quite effective.
01:59This is how Project Safer works.
02:02First, we will press the switch to turn it on, but we will not turn it right away.
02:09To do that, we need to press the speed setting.
02:15That's the red button. It has three levels of speed. It just gets faster and faster.
02:21We will just put it in between. This is where we will loosen the railing.
02:29I hope we can help and support these kinds of projects that have the potential to help more people here in the Philippines.
