Windstorm aftermath: Dog reacts fiercely to injured rat in backyard

After a windstorm swept through, debris scattered across the backyard, creating a mess that needed clearing.

While assessing the damage, Brian spotted an injured rat—about the size of his foot. It was clearly hurt, lying there helpless.

But before he could think about what to do next, his dog noticed the rat too. The dog was fierce and instinctively wanted to protect her home by taking down this strange intruder.

Despite Brian’s quick intervention, every muscle in her body was primed to attack, and her attention remained fixed on the rat, as if any second she could slip free and finish the job.
