00:00Meanwhile, because of the budget of the Office of the Vice President,

00:05Vice President Sara Duterte said that there are 200 employees who may lose their jobs.

00:12This is what Professor Antonio Contreras will discuss in Punto de Vista, Professor.

00:23Good morning and thank you very much.

00:26The Senate approved the budget of the Office of the Vice President

00:31and it only adapted the budget approved by the House of Representatives,

00:38where the previous 2 billion budget of the OVP was reduced by more than half.

00:46Now, it is 733 million again.

00:49And the funds that were previously allocated to the OVP were transferred to other agencies.

00:55And now, we heard Vice President Sara Duterte say

01:00that because of this reduction, 200 employees of the OVP may lose their jobs.

01:07If we can remember, when Vice President Duterte visited the committee in the lower house,

01:15he did not answer the questions.

01:17He had a chance to explain his budget.

01:21He had a chance to defend his budget.

01:24But he did not do it.

01:26And when his budget was discussed in the plenary,

01:31he was waiting to meet to explain and defend.

01:36But he did not come.

01:39I hope this will be a lesson to the heads of agencies,

01:43not only to Vice President Sara Duterte,

01:46that we did our jobs.

01:49Because it is not only the entire work of the agency that is at stake,

01:56it is also the livelihood of the employees.

02:04Let us not allow politics and personal gossips to dominate.

02:18it is about those who work in your office,
