00:21Kimmel hosted the iconic awards show the last two years

00:25and four times overall,

00:27bookmarking an experimental period for the Academy.

00:30The show did not have a single host from 2019 to 2021,

00:35and then used three hosts for the 2023 and 24 shows.

00:40This year's Oscars drew 19.5 million viewers,

00:45which was a four-year high.

00:47Prior to 2018, however,

00:49the audience never dropped below 32 million viewers.
