New Jersey declares drought warning amid wildfire threat

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy issued a drought warning and mentioned that the state might enforce mandatory water restrictions if the situation continues.

00:04Now, I know we were all a little bit relieved to receive a few drops of rain over the weekend,

00:09but the truth is that rainfall was nowhere near enough.

00:13Unfortunately, appears that these unseasonably dry conditions will not be ending anytime soon.

00:20Because by every indication,

00:22it looks like we have as well a very dry winter ahead of us.

00:27Yes, that means this drought could grow even more severe,

00:30which may eventually require mandatory water restrictions.
