00:00The United States government announced an additional P196 million in aid to help the
00:06Philippines respond to the damage caused by Severe Tropical Storm Christine. Based on
00:12Philippine News Agency's report, the additional funding will be directed through the U.S. Agency
00:18for International Development or USAID to support logistics and supply clean water,
00:24sanitation, shelter, and cash aid in the hardest-hit areas of the Bicol region and Batangas.
00:32This is on top of the P84 million given in October, bringing the total amount of support
00:39for the Philippines' disaster response to P280 million. USAID funded the deployment of 92 trucks
00:48by the United Nations World Food Program to deliver 150,000 family food packs and
00:54relief supplies to Albay, Benguet, Camarines Sur, Milokos Norte, and La Union.
