Selangor police launch second Child Interview Centre in Shah Alam

00:00We are inaugurating the second child interview center in Selangor.

00:18The first one we had 10 years ago, in 2014.

00:21And the second one has been operating since March this year.

00:27So, the second CIC has been converted into an old police station

00:38by the Ministry of Home Affairs last year.

00:43With the convenience of having one interrogation room,

00:47one emergency room and one rest room.

00:50The CIC is suitable for children who are involved in sexual crimes.

01:05So, children aged 16 years and below will be brought here

01:13instead of being taken to the police station or the IPD where the situation is different.

01:18The CIC is a facility.

01:22We have a waiting area outside.

01:25When the parents bring their children here,

01:28there is a place for them to rest and wait outside.

01:34The parents cannot go inside.

01:36The children will be brought inside.

01:41There is a guest room for the children to rest.

01:45Then, there is a special room for the interrogation.

01:49And there is another room for recording.

01:52What happens in that room will be recorded and recorded for the purpose of recording.

01:59And there is a pantry room and a water room.

02:04And this place is managed by two members.

02:09One is a sergeant and the other is a corporal or lance corporal

02:14who is in charge of the administration in this center.

02:17So, there are 16 interrogation officers.

02:20The interrogation officers are in charge of cases related to children's rights,

02:25children's sexual crimes, or child abuse.

02:30They have to make an appointment.

02:34There is a system.

02:35They have to enter the system when they want to use this room.

02:38And the schedule of using this room will be arranged.

02:43If necessary, we will expand the facility because Selangor is a big city.

02:48The two facilities we are building are in the same area.

02:52So, if necessary, we will expand the facility in the southern part of Selangor.
