Mexico: Pres. Urges Mexican nationals in the U.S. to approach the Mexican consulate

In Mexico, president Claudia Sheinbaum urged her fellow countrymen to approach the Mexican consulate in the United States, following the announcements made by president-elect Donald Trump.

00:00The Mexican head of state assured that her administration is seeking a meeting with the

00:04Republicans' transition cabinet to coordinate important details about the relationship between

00:08both governments. In this regard, President Chaybon commented that she is working on the

00:13economic relationship, migration security and other high-level issues. The president said

00:19that her government is reinforcing consulates to protect Mexican citizens who are outside the country.

00:30We are reinforcing the consulates, and we are informing our sisters and brothers in

00:44the United States that we will always defend them by telling them to approach the consulates.

00:51And on the other hand, we are also working on holding a meeting

00:56in due course if possible, a meeting to be held with the transition cabinet of

01:05President Trump and the Mexican authorities in order to be able to advance in coordination.
