00:15The Department of Agriculture continues to strive to lower the price of rice in the market.

00:21It is proven that DA officials personally visited some families in Metro Manila

00:31In an interview with Radyo Pilipinas, Agriculture Assistant Secretary Genevieve Guevara said

00:37that an inspection was conducted to make sure that the DA and the Local Market Association

00:44agreed on three to five pesos markups for the sale of rice.

00:53We checked if there are stocks.

00:56They said that there are stocks but it still depends on the price of those stocks.

01:04We said that the DA will continue to support us to ensure that we have cheap rice that we can sell in the market.

01:16It is not a problem for rice retailers to lower the price of the rice they sell

01:23but it is up to the government to help them supply cheap rice

01:27so that its cheap price can also be ensured in the market.
