00:00The Anti-Money Laundering Council is taking action against the banks that were involved in the case of Alice Guo. Here is the report.

00:15The Anti-Money Laundering Council joined the continuation of the budget deliberations in the Senate.

00:20Some Senators said that AMLOC became an instrument in the case of former Mayor Alice Guo.

00:26But some Senators noticed something.

00:29But in our hearings, it came out that even if our law is strict on money laundering,

00:36it seems that the banks do not comply with the reportorial requirements to flag illegal activities.

00:44The budget sponsor, Senator Grace Poe, said that AMLOC is currently in the process of doing something.

00:51The AMLOC opened the enforcement action proceedings against those banks involved in Alice Guo's case

00:58to determine if they have violated the requirement under AMLOC.

01:02And should the AMLC find that they indeed violated the said requirement,

01:07the AMLC will file formal charges against said banks.

01:13The Senator also added that AMLOC needs support for their Artificial Intelligence Project,

01:19as well as their other important programs.

01:22Through the AI Project, it will help to evaluate the so-called transaction reports that they receive.

01:31Of course, if it's manual, it's very difficult to know how many transactions are there in the bank.

01:37So even if you have a threshold, there are still thousands of them.

01:41The Judiciary Budget also contributed to the deliberation.

01:44Here, Senate President Pro Tempore Gingoy Estrada asked the unresolved cases.
